Apple

Apple Logo

Apple was founded by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs in 1967 in San Francisco, USA. Apple were the first successful personal computer company and popularized the graphical user interface of computers. Since then, Apple have become one of the biggest manufacturers of computers, tablets, smartphones, audio products and more!
In 1998 Apple released their first “i lifestyle” product called the iMac, which essentially made Apple into a household name. Only 9 years later, Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone 3G, paving the path for all our future smartphones that we use and love today. With the launch of the iPhone, this boosted Apple's popularity even further into the mainstream, making Apple the company we all know today.

Apple Ecosystem

Since the iPhone, apple have doubled, even tripled-down on the “i lifestyle” product branding, from iMacs to iPhones to iPads. Across these 3 types of devices, Apple have created an ecosystem that allows you to easily share files, videos and photos between all the devices, seamlessly. Not only that, but the ecosystem has many cool features, for example, it will allow you to set up a brand new Macbook, iPhone, iPad or iMac with the settings of your old device. This means you'll be able to copy everything from from your old iPhone/iPad, including the apps, contacts and everything else onto your new device extremely easily. This means you won't have to waste any time setting up any newer devices if you're upgrading to a newer Apple product from the old one, it's a hassle free experience, it's like you never left!

Airdrop is also a really awesome feature, this allows you to send files via a direct Wi-Fi connection to any of your other Apple products. For example, if you shoot a quick video on your iPhone, you can Airdrop it to your Mac, extremely fast and start editing it right away!

The ecosystem they've build is very powerful and can do so much, a feature that I wish was on every device is one called the Universal Clipboard. What this does, it allows you for example, to copy text from your Mac, go to your clipboard on your iPhone and it'll allow you to paste that text, it's as if you're using one singular device. You can also do this for files, videos and photos. This works easier than Airdrop as it allows you to copy and paste these things to wherever you want, rather than specific folders that the Airdrop features sends the files to.

The newest iMacs and MacBook's have some exclusives features in the ecosystem too, one of them for example is called SideCar. It will allow you to use your iPad as a 2nd screen for your Mac. This is a really handy feature as it allows you to easily attach a 2nd screen to your Mac, allowing for more workspace on your projects! You can couple this with the new iOS 15 update that gives you "universal control" this teams it'll allow you to use a single mouse and keyboard across all your Apple devices allowing you to boost your productivity even more.

The Apple ecosystem doesn't just stop with their graphical interface products, but this also goes for their audio products, like the AirPods as an example. The AirPods can prioritize audio signals depending on where the audio source is coming from. If you were watching a video on your MacBook using your AirPods and then get a call on your iPhone, the AirPods are smart enough to recognize that you're on the same Apple ID and then the audio on the AirPods will switch to the iPhone so that you can take the call.

We haven't even scratched the surface of what the Apple Ecosystem can do, however, there are many benefits to it that just makes life easier. So why not give Apple a try and dive into their ecosystem to see what it can do for you?
